Case Studies

Microsports’ Young Leader Food Social Action Project

During the winter 2024 programme, Bring it on Brum! Young Leader Cooking Workshops encouraged young people to talk about food as well as look at the long-term impact of healthy eating.

One of the workshops, held at Microsports’ winter camp, welcomed over 40 young people aged between 5-16 years of age to take part in cooking demonstrations including soup, pizzas, apple crumble and fruit salad. Read full story.

Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Hall welcomes 450 young people and their families

The Royal Sutton Coldfield Town Hall aims to provide equal access to the arts. By offering access to their pantomime performance, children, young people and their families were able to experience the theatre, some for the first time. Access was also offered to include BSL and relaxed performances to support those with additional needs. Read full story.

Rollers Roller Disco’s and Skating SEND-supportive holiday club

Rollers Roller Disco and Skating ran four sessions over the winter break, teaching young people how to skate and progressing to playing simple games to continue to build their confidence and get them more active.

The results were a winter programme which included an extended activity time and reduced noise levels. The feedback from parents and children was so positive the team decided to develop an inclusion programme within our mainstream session including activities such as roller hockey, roller derby and street skating for older young people.
