Dynamos Cricket

27 February 2026

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) are delivering another year of Dynamos Cricket Intros; a multi-year initiative that champions inclusion, encouraging children from more communities to take up the game of cricket. Warwickshire Cricket Foundation (WCF) are responsible for delivery in Birmingham.

WCF is looking to work with organisations to introduce children to cricket in Birmingham. Dynamos Cricket Intros is designed to tackle existing barriers and inspire the next generation to pick up a bat and ball, particularly in urban areas, by introducing children to a simplified, more dynamic game of countdown cricket.

We know how important it is to look like the heroes of the game, so every child who takes part will receive their very own Dynamos Cricket t-shirt, cricket ball, medal & certificate upon completion of the programme.

Key Information

Dynamos, launched in 2020, is for children aged between 8-11 years of age. The programme consists of 4, 2-hour sessions or 2, 4 hour sessions (10am – 2pm) delivered by qualified WCF cricket coaches. Alongside our coach, one of the main aims of Dynamos is to develop and train brand-new activators to help build a sustainable model of cricket coaching. This could be teachers/leaders etc from the venues.

  • The delivery can take place during the Easter
  • Registration data required: Name, Gender, Date of Birth, Postcode and Ethnicity
  • Group size minimum 20 children
  • Girls-only sessions are available – subject to availability of female coaches

Successful groups will be encouraged and supported by WCF who will deliver free cricket during the summer as part of their holiday activity and food programme. Successful applications will need to send volunteers to attend a cricket activator course. The date of the training will be sent to all the successful applications after the closing date.

You could be one of several organisations delivering this fantastic sport to children and young people in your local area as part of the summer Bring it on Brum! programme for 2026.
